About This Password Generator
A cryptographically random password, generated entirely inside your browser using the Web Crypto API. Nothing is sent to any server — it exists only in your tab and is gone when you close it.
What makes a strong password?
At least 12 characters, including uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols — the strength meter gives you a quick read on how secure your combination is. For most accounts, 16 characters with all types enabled is plenty.
Why shouldn't I reuse passwords?
Reusing the same password across sites is how most account takeovers happen: if one site is breached, attackers try the leaked credentials against your other accounts (credential stuffing). A password manager makes it practical to use a different password everywhere without memorising any of them. The UK National Cyber Security Centre has free guidance on staying safe online.
Any other quick tips?
Use at least 12 characters (16+ for anything sensitive), store them in a reputable password manager rather than a browser or spreadsheet, and enable two-factor authentication wherever it's offered.
